Prayers for Ukraine

On Sunday 27th February 2022, at 6pm, we joined with friends from Kay St Baptist and Longholm Methodist, and other churches in the valley, at the Cenotaph in Rawtenstall for a candlelight vigil of solidarity and prayer for all those affected by the terrible events in the Ukraine.

Those of us who could not attend in person joined the vigil in thought and prayer, and lit candles in our windows.

Please do continue to remember all the innocent lives caught up in this terrible war - and lets all pray that it will come to an end quickly and that no more lives will be lost.

Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9) and "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth" (Matthew 5:5)

The Baptist Union have released this short prayer video which might be of help to you - Prayer for Ukraine (this will open YouTube)

The European Baptist Federation continue to provide a situation report which includes a Baptist Response in the Ukraine and it's neighbours - Situation Report (this will open EDF.org)

Want to support further?

Various Charities are mobalising to help those in need at this time, here are some that a number of friends at church are supporting:

Tearfund - a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (this will open Tearfund's webpage)

British Red Cross - a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (this will open British Red Cross webpage)

And we continue to send our thoughts and prayers to all those being affected by this terrible war

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you need anything, support, prayers or more information.

God Bless and Take Care
